COVID-19 vaccinations should be given for learning organizations

As Superintendent of the Wellpinit School District, I am very fortunate that all of my staff have been at work in person. This has taken extensive collaborative preventive preparation and is due in a large part, to the support and actions of the Spokane Tribe. The Spokane Tribe arranged for COVID-19 Vaccinations for my staff. This tremendous gesture has given assurance and confidence to everyone involved and we are extremely thankful and grateful.

If possible, I would appreciate it if the Colville Tribes would help the Nespelem and Grand Coulee Dam School Districts in the same fashion. My wife is the most senior certificated staff member in the Grand Coulee Dam School District. She was one of the first to be at work in person months ago. She is very loyal and has helped thousands of students and athletes over the years. She feels she is essential – especially during these challenging times. My wife has always put others first and been strong and courageous. I respect her unwavering commitment but would be much more at ease knowing that she and all of the Nespelem and Grand Coulee District staff members have had their COVID-19 vaccinations sooner rather than later so in-person learning for all involved can be expedited.

Let’s give our students and athletes our best and safest environment possible.
