Grand Coulee Police

8/17 - A man on Grand Avenue was arrested and taken to jail for assault after his wife said she was tired of him beating her up and showed police relevant injuries.

8/18 - Police were unable to catch up to a truck and trailer reported to be emitting smoke while headed east on SR-174. Lincoln County officers were notified. 

- Police went to Coulee Playland, where it was reported that a 1-year-old infant had been left alone in a car seat crying for about 10-20 minutes. The infant and its caretaker were gone upon police arrival.

- Police assisted corrections officers out of Ephrata in arresting a man wanted on a warrant walking north on SR-155 from Electric City. When an officer told him he was being arrested the man turned south and ran until he saw corrections officers in that direction. He put his hands up and was arrested. He is being charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

- An officer stood by while a man retrieved belongings from a Dill Avenue residence. 

8/20 - A man thought he saw someone burglarizing his neighbor’s house, but it turned out that a teenager was climbing a tree, which turned on motion-activated lights.

- A teenager at Sunbanks Resort was reported to have pulled a child’s shorts down. The teenager admitted to it, saying he was just joking around. An officer explained he should never do that.

- A man on Fortuyn Road thought a woman stole his wallet, but then found it near the couch he was sleeping on.

8/22 - A man on Nucoulee Boulevard was throwing things at his neighbor’s house. He said that, among other things, he was upset about his chickens going missing. He felt the police didn’t show enough empathy for his chickens. He then went back inside his house.

8/23 - A horse was loose near SR-174 and E Street. An officer led the horse toward the owner and returned it to her.

- A woman at Jack’s 4-Corners gas station was upset because there wasn’t any chicken left by the time the attendant was ready to talk to her. An argument ensued and the woman was told to leave. Both she and the attendant called the police. An officer gave her number to the owner of the gas station, who said he would look into her complaint.

8/17 - A woman on Spruce Street reported that a man was pounding on the windows and doors, wanting to speak to her. The man was gone upon police arrival. The woman filled out statement forms and said she wanted a protection order. 

- A woman was reported to have been given a ride by a man to a house known to be empty on Central Drive. The woman said she had a tent there and police told her to take it down. The man said she could stay at his nearby residence.

8/24 - A man on Central Drive asked police if there was anywhere a woman could pitch a tent. He was told there wasn’t and that maybe she could catch a bus to Moses Lake or Ephrata.
