The ban on golf during the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted by the governor, but there are plenty of restrictions on how play can resume, including how many people can golf together, ride in a cart, and more.

The Banks Lake Golf Course is operating under new guidelines to comply with Gov. Jay Inslee’s Proclamation 20-25-2 that allowed golf courses to open, effective May 5.

“Outdoor recreation activities including golfing are authorized to commence so long as

participants fully comply with social distancing and coronavirus related hygiene requirements,” reads a notice from the golf course.

Guidelines for golf course:

1. Limit interaction during sign in.

2. Maintain a log of all customers with contact information.

3. Tee off in twosomes. (Foursomes are allowed if from the same household.)

4. One rider per power cart unless a minor.

5. Regularly sanitize.

6. Flag sticks remain in holes. Players avoid touching flag sticks.

7. Eliminate cups and holes on practice greens.

8. Discontinue club and equipment rentals.

9. Restrict use of driving ranges.

10. Remove bunker rakes, ball-washers, and water coolers.

11. Eliminate on-course garbage cans.

12. Encourage golfers to carry and properly dispose of their own garbage when leaving the course.

13. Maintain social distancing at all times, including around tees and greens.

14. Discourage group congregation around the clubhouse before and after golfing.

15. Golfers are asked to leave the course immediately after play to eliminate

congestion/gathering on the property or parking lot.

16. Bars and restaurants are still closed until further notice.
