Misty Krohn is one of six teachers in the 29 school districts of the North Central Washington Educational Service District awarded a grant related to the study of the Lower Grand Coulee recently.

Krohn, who teaches kindergarten at Lake Roosevelt Elementary, will get the $300 for her project to create a science center in her classroom.

The Friends of Lower Grand Coulee (FLGC), in partnership with the North Central Education Foundation (NCEF), provided the opportunity to encourage study of the Lower Grand Coulee area this spring.

Because of school closures, however, all the teachers receiving awards plan to complete their projects in the next school year.
