Lady Raiders win two at home

The Lady Raiders defeated the Oroville Hornets 47-24 in a home game on Friday and crushed Bridgeport Monday, also in Coulee Dam. 

Audrey Hansen scored the most points against the Hornets for Lake Roosevelt with nine, followed by Ellie Hansen with eight and Jozlyn Hansen and Megan Abel, who added seven each. 

Ellie Hansen, who stands 6-0, led the Raiders in rebounds with 12 total, six offensive and six defensive. 

Audrey Hansen, also 6-0, had nine rebounds, seven defensive and two offensive.

Almeta Desautel had four steals for the Lady Raiders. 

The Lady Raiders hosted the Bridgeport Fillies Monday night, demolishing them 69-12. 

The Hansen sisters led in scoring again, with Audrey scoring 22, and Ellie scoring 18. 

Ellie had 10 rebounds, nine offensive and one defensive, and Audrey had eight, five offensive and three defensive. 

Kyona Edmo led in steals with seven, with Abel stealing four. 

“We have talked about winning the games you are supposed to win, but more importantly how you win them,” Assistant Coach Matthew Pleasants told The Star. “We have been emphasizing utilizing what we have worked on in practice and doing it all the time. We have looked better over the last week and a half.”

An away game was scheduled for yesterday in Tonasket, results of which will be reported next week. 

LR is scheduled to play in Soap Lake against the Lady Eagles Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. 

A road game against Brewster is scheduled for Feb. 4, also at 6 p.m.
