The Lady Raiders suffered their second loss of the season in White Swan against the Lady Cougars Friday.

The Lady Raiders led 22-19 over the Lady Cougars at the end of the first half, but were outscored 30-18 in the second half for a final score of 49-40.

“It’s always a good opportunity to go to another opponent’s gym to play,” Assistant Coach Matthew Pleasants told The Star, “especially one that will give postseason energy and vibes.”

“We have to do a better job of taking care of the ball,” he continued. “Over the last four games we have been setting a new season high in turnovers each game. The first half we looked good, not great but good. Second half was going good until the infamous two-minute stretch that gets us from time to time with just bad decision making. They are a well-coached team, and (with) teams like that, every second counts. We look forward to bouncing back this coming week.”

LR is still on top of the Central Washington 2B league with a 4-0 win-loss record in the league, 4-2 overall, with Waterville-Mansfield in second place at 5-1, 7-3.

The Lady Raiders were scheduled to play Brewster on Tuesday, results of which will be reported in next week’s Star.

The Lady Raiders are scheduled to host Liberty Bell at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, in Coulee Dam.

Then on Saturday, the Lady Raiders are scheduled to play on the road against Waterville-Mansfield, also at 6 p.m.
