Raider wrestlers competed in the Freeman Invite on Saturday where Trevon Johnson took the championship in his 220-pound weight class.

Johnson defeated Overton from Deer Park 11-7 in the championship round.

"Trevon wrestled great," Assistant Coach Justus Caudell said. "He's been working hard all year and it was nice to see him have some success against good competition. As we move toward tournament time, I hope he'll continue to work hard. He's on a good trajectory and he's shaping into a strong leader in the room. I look forward to seeing him finish his season."

Other Raider placers that day were Colton Jackson, who placed second at 113, and C. J. Arcasa, who placed sixth 126.

The Raiders will host their annual Powerhouse Tournament in Coulee Dam on Friday, Jan. 3 at 10 a.m. in the only home wrestling event of the year.

The next day, Jan. 4, the Raiders will wrestle in the Banks Lake Brawl in Coulee City, also at 10 a.m.
