12/4 - A policeman hit a deer with his patrol car along SR-174 near mile post 19, resulting in a slightly bent push bar and a small dent in the hood of his car.

12/6 - A man said that another man had dumped some yard debris on his property near Jackson and Lincoln Avenues in Electric City. The property owner said he’d asked him to move it in November, but it hadn’t been moved yet.

- A dog was reported to be chained up in the cold on Roosevelt Drive. The dog was found to have a doghouse to sleep in, water to drink, and to be in good health.

- A woman on Bowen Street reported seeing a neighbor run a hose from another neighbor’s house to hers. The hose was gone upon police arrival. She said she had a photo and wanted the incident documented.

12/7 - The Center Lodge in Grand Coulee reported finding syringes in a room. Police found one in the medicine cabinet with containers of sterile water, and another in the ice bucket. The motel told police who rented that room.

- A woman on Roosevelt Drive reported seeing someone take firewood without permission from a neighbor’s house that she was watching. Police spoke to someone at that house on Batchelor Square. He said he didn’t know anything about it.

- USBR Plant Protection told police about a deer near the Left Powerhouse that had jumped a concrete barrier, falling onto rocks about 20 feet below. It was found breathing but not moving. An officer killed the deer with two rifle shots.

- A grey Ford Escape was reported stolen from a Coulee Boulevard residence. The owner is said to have dementia and couldn’t remember moving the vehicle or where the keys were. Local auto shops were checked to see if it was dropped off at any of them.

12/10 - An officer arrested a man on Bowen Street wanted on arrest warrants. He was taken to Grant County Jail.

12/11 - A man who lived along SR-174 told police he was fine after his wife was concerned that he hadn’t been home for a few hours.

12/12 - A man was camping in the lower area of the USBR Visitor Center. He didn’t speak English. He had no vehicle. He took his tent down and an officer eventually took him to the Osborne Bay area, where free camping is allowed. The officer stayed in the area with his headlights on while the man set up his tent. The man expressed gratitude by putting his hands in a prayer-like gesture and smiling.

- Police stood by while a doctor treated a patient who was said to be combative prior to police arrival.

12/14 - A man was cited for a defective windshield and driving without insurance after being pulled over for the windshield, which was visibly in bad shape. The man said that previously

12/16 - A woman at the Grand Coulee Manor was expecting a package with a bacteria-killing light bulb. The manager there reviewed security footage that showed another tenant roll down the hall in his scooter and take the package back to his apartment. That man said he thought the package was for someone else and gave it to the manager, who gave it to the woman, who didn’t wish to press charges.

- A man on Continental Heights said another man had threatened to beat him up if he didn’t buy him a beer. Police asked him if he thought that man, who is disabled and rides in a scooter, would or could beat him up. The man laughed, said no, and apologized for calling.

12/17 - Police were allowed to search a Dill Avenue residence for a woman wanted on arrest warrants. She was found hiding in a dryer, arrested, and taken to jail.
