Grand Coulee

11/26 - A man was taken to jail on a burglary charge. He was pulled over as he drove near the skate park at North Dam Park because his vehicle matched the description of one that may have been involved is a possible burglary that had been reported. He said he was the only one who had gone into a Lakeview Avenue home, although there were others in his vehicle, including one man who ran away towards Delano, ultimately eluding police, and who is wanted on arrest warrants. The driver said he only took some tools and car cleaning equipment from the house. He said he had heard the house was empty and that people had been coming and going from it for sometime, that it was unlocked and he wanted to see what was inside. He was also charged with driving with a suspended license.

11/27 - A stray dog at Jack’s 4-Corners gas station was returned to its owner.

- An officer watched a Chevy hit a deer near Federal Avenue and SR-155. The officer put the deer down and gave the driver a case number for insurance purposes. The vehicle had some damage to the front end.


11/29 - Police gave an elderly couple a ride to a Coulee Dam residence at about midnight from milepost 27 on SR-174, where their car had broken down several miles southeast of Grand Coulee. The couple was getting cold but otherwise fine.

- People in a blue Chevy truck were reportedly archery hunting near the Center School. Police didn’t find any such people.

11/30 - Police gave an intoxicated man a ride home following a report of him lying in the road near Batchelor Square.

- A man found a purse in the road near Coulee City. The purse contained $978 in cash, credit cards, a Social Security card, IDs, and more. A letter was sent to an address on one of the IDs.

12/2- A man shot a deer with an arrow, saying he shot it outside Electric City limits, but it ran near Grand Avenue and SR-155. An officer found the deer, which had run to Sunny Drive where he shot and killed it. It was removed before being gutted.

- Damage was reported to one of the soccer nets at the former middle school. A 2-foot-long hole appeared to have been cut in one of the nets, the Lake Roosevelt soccer coach reported. Estimated damage is $200.

- A hit and run was documented in Electric City. Skid marks in the snow showed that a vehicle skidded down Crest Avenue, eventually hitting a blue van, leaving a scrape and a dent with estimated $1,200 in damage. The owner of the van was not home.

- Gunshots were reportedly heard in a field in Electric City. Police didn’t find anyone shooting guns.

Coulee Dam

11/25 - A man was arrested on a warrant after being pulled over along Columbia Avenue. The officer noticed the car avoiding him throughout town, and eventually pulled him over for speeding. The man was also charged with obstruction because after pulling into a private driveway, he allegedly got into the back seat to pretend that he wasn’t driving. He was also cited for driving without insurance and for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was towed.

11/26 - A 911 hangup call was traced back to the weight room at Lake Roosevelt High School. There was no one injured there, and it was unknown who had called.

- A driver was pulled over near Riley Point for going 55 miles per hour in the 30 mph zone. The man got out of his car and said his wife had left her camera at the Grand Coulee Dam Visitor Center and wanted to get back there before they closed to retrieve the camera. The officer followed them there, and she was able to get her camera. But her husband was given a speeding ticket.

11/29 - Police followed a blood trail that some people from out of town noticed, It stretched from Stevens Avenue to Columbia Avenue. Judging by the tracks, the blood appeared to be from an injured dog, which may have been picked up where the blood trail stopped.
