The Lady Raiders' softball team is sitting pretty at the top of the league, starting their season with a 5-0 win-loss record, strongly dominating each game.

Lake Roosevelt played in Oroville March 26, defeating the Lady Hornets 14-1 in the first game and 10-0 in the second of the doubleheader season opener.

Cassidy Reyes pitched the first game, throwing three strikeouts, and Emma Marchand pitched the second game, throwing eight.

Next, the Lady Raiders traveled to Omak March 28 for a non-league contest against the Lady Pioneers, defeating them 20-4.

Then on March 30, LR hosted a doubleheader in Grand Coulee, defeating the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions 13-3 in the first game, and 18-0 in the second.

Maddie Toulou contributes to a double play against Omak while Kaylee Irwin watches from the outfield.

Marchand shined in the doubleheader. In the first game she hit four for five from the plate, including a home run, two triples, a double, and five runs batted in. In the second game, she hit another home run, two singles, and had three RBIs.

The Lady Raiders have a 4-0 win-loss record in the Central Washington 2B League, 5-0 overall, ranking them among the top teams in the standings.

Tonasket is also undefeated (3-0, 4-0), and Brewster is 4-0 in the league, 4-2 overall.

"Our 5-0 beginning to the season is the result of our outstanding pitching and defense," Head Coach Jaci Gross said. "Maddie Toulou has been a rock at second base and the duo of Cassidy Reyes and Emma Marchand on the mound have shut everyone down. We are very pleased with our start, however knowing that we still have work to do."

The Lady Raiders are currently on spring break and will resume their season in an April 9 home game against Pateros that starts at 4:30 p.m.
