Grand Coulee

3/4 - A man said he had been kicked out of his grandmother’s Dill Avenue house, and that his girlfriend was still there, felt unsafe, and wasn’t allowed to leave. The man also said he was told his uncles would kill him on the grandmother’s order if he returned to the place. An officer spoke to the girlfriend, who said she did feel unsafe and wanted to leave. The grandmother told the officer that the man had threatened to burn the house down, and that the girlfriend was under her foster care, for which she had no paperwork. The girlfriend was allowed to leave.

- A man and woman on Ronald Drive were surprised to have police show up at their place after a 911 hangup call. The two said they were trying to call Coulee Medical Center, which they said has a similar phone number.

3/5 - A woman at the Continental Heights apartments said she received a scam text message saying if she sent $1,000 she would receive $1 million. The woman sent the money, then received a text asking for more. When she refused to give more money, she said, she began receiving threatening text messages including images of the apartments and a photo of her ID and a claim they would be there that night. Extra patrols of the area were requested.


- A woman said a package from her mother arrived at a Dill Avenue residence and was placed outside the fence of the residence for her. When she arrived, the package was empty. She said cartons of cigarettes and $500 were missing. A man at the residence asserted that the package was sealed when he left it outside the fence.

3/6 - A Crest Avenue woman was charged with fourth-degree assault and taken to Grant County Jail following an incident in which she allegedly threw an ashtray at her mother, which missed, then a candle, which hit the mother, causing a cut and bleeding. The mother didn’t want to press charges, but the woman was charged nonetheless.

3/8 - Two separate incidents resulted in men receiving speeding tickets, both for going 48 mph in the 30-mph zone on SR-155 above the top of the dam.

- A woman on A Street received a verbal warning and brought her dog inside following complaints from a neighbor.

3/9 - An officer spotted a man he knew to be wanted on warrants walking near the rodeo grounds. The officer arrested him, confiscated two seemingly unused needles that were later destroyed, and took the man to the Dry Falls overlook area, where a Grant County officer took him the rest of the way to Grant County Jail.

- While an officer was responding to a report of a man passed out on Roosevelt Drive, another officer said he was there and that the man wanted to fight him. When the officer arrived, he spoke to the man, who refused to identify himself and refused a ride. The man was allowed to walk to a friend’s house, and was told to stay out of the roadway.

- An elderly man lost in Electric City said he had sold his home and didn’t remember where his new home was. The officer recognized the man and contacted family, who said he had not sold his home and still lived there. The man was taken home, where family met the officer.

3/10 - An alarm was going off at the Electric City post office. All the doors were secured and nothing appeared out of the ordinary.

- A driver pulled over near SR-174 and F Street was given a speeding ticket for going 46 mph in the 35-mph zone.

- A driver pulled over at the overlook just below the dam for having a headlight out was cited for driving with a suspended license. The car was parked there.

- A man pulled over at SR-174 and F Street for going 46 in the 35-mph zone was given a speeding ticket and also cited for driving with a suspended license and without an ignition interlock.

- An officer recognized a car he knew to be registered to a driver with a suspended license and pulled him over near the the overlook area just above Grand Coulee Dam. The man was given a ticket and told not to drive until he had a valid license.

- An incident in the area of Burdin Boulevard and B Street reportedly involved a man crossing the street, a car honking at him, the man flipping the car off, a man getting out of the car to fight the other man, relatives of the driver coming out of a nearby business, and yelling. Witnesses said the pedestrian was the aggressor. The driver was gone from the area, and with no crime determined to have taken place, the officer left.

- A man walking north in the southbound lane of travel on SR-155 near the industrial offices was said by an officer to be intoxicated. The man wanted to walk to the credit union in Coulee Dam. The officer gave the man a ride to the credit union.

- A car parked on Ronald Drive had no license plates. An officer spoke to the registered owner and told him the car couldn’t be parked on city property without license plates. That was news to the owner, who then reported his license plates stolen.

- An E Street man was cited for fourth-degree assault. A woman who was staying with him had scrapes and bruises, and so did the man. Both claimed self defense. The man requested the woman be banned from his property.

- An interior motion alarm was set off at a Cooper Square residence. There were no tracks in the snow surrounding the home, and the building was secure. The homeowner was made aware of the alarm going off.

Coulee Dam

3/4 - A woman’s vehicle was damaged while parked inside the gate of the bus garage at Lake Roosevelt Schools. The bus superintendent spoke to the drivers, who didn’t see or hear anything related to the damage. None of the buses had damage consistent with the damage on her car.

3/5 - An alarm was going off at the National Park Service building on Crest Avenue. An officer called Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office because they had the contact info for the person who could turn it off.

3/6 - A woman reported that at about 4 a.m. on March 3, her cell phone was stolen from the casino by a blonde woman. A casino official told police they would need a search warrant to obtain their security footage. The woman said she had bought the phone for about $150 two years ago.

3/7 - A man was reported to have been attempting to get into vehicles at the bus garage. The man was said to be walking south on SR-155, eating an apple and wearing blue jeans. An officer didn’t spot such a man.

3/8 - A man thought he saw people performing “donuts” at the Lake Roosevelt football field. An officer found people there cleaning up the field so that it could be used for baseball, despite the cold weather.
