Raiders have happy holidays at Holiday Classic

The Raider basketball squad had reason to celebrate at the Eagle Holiday Classic, defeating both the Medical Lake and Colton teams.

Friday night, the Raiders defeated the Medical Lake Cardinals by a single point, 72-71.

Soarin’ Marchand led the Raiders with 19 points.

The Raiders were down 35-28 at the end of the first half, but dominated the third quarter, putting up 23 points while only allowing 12 from the Cardinals.

In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals outscored the Raiders 24-21, but fell a point short.

The next day the Raiders played Colton High School, this time winning by a larger margin, 70-49.

The Raiders will return to league play on Thursday, Jan. 3, when they visit Liberty Bell to take on the Mountain Lions at 7:30 p.m.

They play at home in Coulee Dam Saturday, Jan. 5, against Waterville-Mansfield, with the varsity game scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
