Grant Transit Authority meeting to discuss changes

Grant Transit Authority will be holding a public meeting at Grand Coulee City Hall on November 28, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., to discuss changes to their transportation services that would take effect on Jan. 2. Comments can also be made by calling (509)-765-0898.

Coulee Dam looking at hit to reserve funds

The town council is considering a budget that will further tap into several reserve funds next year by nearly $410,000. Reserves for fire equipment, streets, the electric utility, water, and solid waste would be drawn down. Several other reserves would not be tapped.

The council approved a first reading of the preliminary 2019 budget Wednesday that incorporates planned rate increases for utilities and services coming to about 4 percent, Clerk Stefani Bowden said, which averages about $17 per household per month.

Electric City to support Grant County Health District

The Electric City Council agreed last week to pay $2 per citizen to the Grant County Health District. GCHD provides numerous services, including disease-specific support group participation, blood and serology testing for the control of communicable disease, food worker card testing, health fairs, and more.

Electric City approves senior meals donation

Electric City will donate $3,000 to the Grand Coulee Dam Senior Meals Program, the city council decided at their meeting last week. The program donated over 16,000 meals to the Grand Coulee Dam area from October of 2017 to September of 2018.

Electric City approves wages and salaries

The city council of Electric City approved the following wages and salaries for 2019: Clerk/Treasurer - $62,489.66; Deputy Clerk - $40,941.50; Code Compliance/Court Clerk - $ 11,145.60, Maintenance Position 1 - $56,930.24; Maintenance Position 2 - $43,204.06; Maintenance Position 3/Gate Attendant - $34,477.06; Transfer Station Operator - $56,930.24; Gate Attendant - $17,832.96; Backup Truck Driver - $3,000.00; Janitor - $1,524.72.
