All the Raider runners set personal records at the Omak Invite at East Side Park on Oct. 3.

"This is a great accomplishment for everyone," said Coach Ann Green.

Some of the top runners included: Chase Marchand, who finished first in the junior high race in 8 minutes, 21.58 seconds; Soarin' Marchand, who finished sixth in the high school boys' race in 17:40.03; Hannah Wapato, who came in second in the high school girls' race in 20:25.82; and Kyona Edmo, who finished seventh at 23:38.00.

"They (matched) much of what we have here at home," Green said about the course. "Asphalt, gravel; they fought a small hill and ran on a small amount of sand. It was very cold, especially at the beginning of the men's race; however, they gave it their all. Very impressive and showing lots and lots of improvements all around."

"If anyone in the community can congratulate these runners for working so hard and let them know they are doing an amazing job," Green continued, "I am most certain they will appreciate it, and it will inspire them to work harder because nothing inspires an athlete more than your community showing them their support."

The Raiders ran in Bridgeport at the Lake Woods Golf Course yesterday, results of which will be reported in next week's Star.

Their next meet is at Lake Osoyoos State Park in Oroville at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12.
