Volunteers for Second Harvest hand out 9,127 pounds of food to 404

individuals, in 148 families, at the Zion Lutheran Church Sept. 27, including 5,060 pounds of produce. Microsoft sponsored the event that included nutrition education on topics such as how much sugar is in different foods and drinks. They also gave out apple potato salad and recipes for the dish. "We try to do simple recipes for the products we're giving away that day," said Julie Humphreys, community

relations manager for

Second Harvest. The next nearby food truck event will be in Coulee City Oct. 25, from 12-2 p.m. at

307 West Main Street.
