Police

7/23 - A Coulee Dam woman reported that someone had entered her vacant River Drive rental property. A bent window screen was the only damage, and the woman noted that the intruder didn’t even take the half case of beer that was in the fridge. An officer found three cigarette butts as evidence.

7/24 - An officer spoke with a woman on Spruce Street who said that she wanted another woman, who was there to clean, to leave. The woman who was there to clean said she had permission from the complainant’s father to be there. The complainant still wanted her to leave, but later found out from her father that the woman did have permission to be there.

7/25 - A woman pulled over at the intersection of Birch Street and River Drive for continuously driving over the lines on the road was cited for driving with a revoked license. The woman locked the car and went in search of someone to drive it for her.

7/26 - An officer served court papers to a man and woman at a Camas Street home, only to return three hours later to take statements regarding the woman allegedly flipping off a neighbor with whom she is not supposed to have contact.

- An officer checking on the welfare of a man in a tie-dyed shirt lying on the grass on SR-155 found that he was just taking a rest while walking to Safeway. The officer gave the man a courtesy ride to the store.

7/27 - An officer assisted Colville Tribal Police in a domestic dispute in which an intoxicated man allegedly pushed his fiancée on the couch while she was holding their infant daughter. The woman then locked herself, the infant, and a young child in their bedroom and called the cops. The man was pretending to be asleep when officers arrived, and was placed under arrest.

7/28 - A boat trailer came unhitched from the SUV that was towing it at 11th and River Drive. After the trailer came unhitched, the driver stopped her vehicle, but the trailer continued to move forward, jamming in between the car’s bumper and right rear tire. A tow truck headed from Coulee City to untangle the situation.

- After getting out of the car near the Columbia River Inn, a woman with a bad hip didn’t want to get back in the car with the boyfriend who helps take care of her. The woman said she just wanted to stretch for a while, and was ready to get back in the car to head to their Wenatchee home.

- A Columbia Avenue man was taken to Okanogan County Jail on warrants after calling 911 and impersonating someone else to complain about cars driving by whose drivers were yelling derogatory remarks at his sister watering the lawn. The woman at the residence said no such thing occurred. The man said he lied about who he was because of the warrants.

8/1 - Change was stolen out of a Mr. Peanut can that was in a vehicle parked near the sewage treatment plant. A toolbox in the back seat was not taken.

8/3 - Hoodies, earbuds, and change were stolen out of a Central Drive vehicle. A section of pipe left in the car was dusted for prints, with only unusable partials found.

8/4 - A suspicious vehicle on Civic Way was actually just a normal vehicle belonging to normal people visiting friends.

Police

7/31 - A lock to a door had been broken on a garage on Dill Avenue, where only a boat on a trailer was inside. Police were unable to contact the owner.

- A vehicle backed into another vehicle at the intersection of Morrison and Midway. The drivers exchanged insurance information. The damage done to the vehicle that was backed into is estimated at $1,000.

- A man was arrested on a warrant at the Four Corners gas station. The man was taken to Coulee City, where a Grant County deputy took custody of him.

8/1 - While investigating a suicide threat, an officer found a female on Diamond Street to be safe and not in distress. She was stressed about some school issues, but had not threatened to harm herself.

- A man was charged with driving with a suspended license after being stopped on Midway Avenue.

- A man was charged with having an unlicensed dog at large. “Scoobie” frequently runs loose, and was seen by an officer almost causing an accident on Grand Coulee Avenue. The officer took the animal to the vet, then to the owner who was at work at Sunbanks Lake Resort.

- An intoxicated man on Coulee Boulevard claimed that his neighbor threatened to “kick” his “ass.” The neighbor claimed that no threats were made, only a heated argument about him owing the complainant some tobacco.

- A man said his car had been damaged while parked near Loepps Furniture. The man confronted the driver of the other car, who provided insurance information. The man was unhappy with the officer who was investigating the report. The damage to the car was consistent with what the man said.

- A woman was alleged to have been hitting a man while they walked around Grand Coulee looking to cash his check. The woman also reportedly dumped a soda on the man, broke his headphones, and spit on him. The man said he wanted a protection order. When an officer tried to talk to the woman, she only responded, “Moo, moo, moo, moo,” which the officer asked her to elaborate on. She did not elaborate, and was taken to Grant County Jail on assault charges.

- A Grand Coulee man died in his recliner. The body was released to Strate Funeral Home.

8/2 - An officer explained to a complainant that fishing is, in fact, allowed from the docks at Coulee Playland. The complainant reported that someone had ridden a bike there and was fishing from the docks.

- Photos were taken of “eyesore” items in a Grand Coulee Avenue yard. The owner was mailed a citation.

- A Grand Coulee driver pulled over on Midway Avenue was cited for driving without a license and driving without insurance.
