Pictured above is the outlet of the 12 discharge pipes from the pumping plant. The pumping plant site (dark) and the top of Grand Coulee Dam may be seen in the background. Discharge pipes have already been installed in the first three tunnels and these will shortly be connected with the curved crest pipes shown in the right foreground. - September 21, 1949 photo
