Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is considering expanding recreational areas at the northern half of the recreation area.

The National Park Service unit will host a public scoping meeting at the Community Colleges of Spokane Colville Campus, 985 North Elm Street, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m.

The focus of meeting is to discuss the expansion of a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities and a forest health project near Rickey Point in Stevens County.

Preliminary recreational options include: development of a disc golf course, installation of a traditional or 3-D archery range, expansion of the park’s trail system, and the development of a Kettle River Water Trail for use by non-motorized watercraft.
