Bike raffle to benefit parks

Two bicycles are being raffled off, with the proceeds to benefit Electric City parks. The drawing for the bikes will be Dec. 3 at the Lake Roosevelt School Bazaar. Tickets are $1 each and are available through Lonna Bussert and Birdie Hensley.

Big football send-off planned

With Lake Roosevelt High School’s football team headed to the first round of the state tournament Friday, fans are planning a streetside send-off for the team to see as they leave town.

Andrea Marconi said the team will depart LR at 2:30 p.m. and boosters would like people to be gathered near Jess Ford and North Cascades Bank to wave, with signs and banners if possible, to wish them well with a community send-off as they pass in the bus.

No Penny Auction

Lake Roosevelt High School officials reported that there won’t be a Penny Auction this year. The popular Penny Auction fund raiser will return in 2017.

Seniors’ Thanksgiving scheduled

The annual Senior Center Thanksgiving feast will be on Wednesday, Nov. 16, beginning at 5 p.m. Those interested in attending are asked to stop by and put your name on the sign-up sheet as soon as possible. The Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the event and will provide several employees as volunteers. Dean Stucker of Grand Coulee will again be providing the turkey.

Free winter clothing offered

Grand Coulee Dam American Legion will be giving away winter coats and clothing, free.

Officials report that they have hundreds of warm coats, in many sizes and styles. You can shop either during the Veterans Day breakfast, 7 to 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, or from 9 a.m. to noon at the hall in Electric City.

Council didn’t meet

Electric City’s next council meeting will be Dec. 13. Last night’s (Tuesday) council meeting was canceled due to the lack of a quorum.
