Despite Lake Roosevelt’s homecoming football loss to Soap Lake Oct. 14, 28-22, there was still a silver lining.

The school set an all-time high for raising food for the Care and Share food bank, collecting a ton and a half of food.

The school also had its highest football gate ever, through a $1,700 donation from the Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union.

As part of its 75th anniversary year, the credit union picked up the tab for everyone attending the homecoming game.

Soap Lake fans were surprised when they came to the game and found that their money wasn’t any good, their tickets picked up by the credit union.
