It’s harvest time and almost time for a festival.

The Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce’s Harvest Festival is scheduled for Sept. 17-18, and features a number of special events.

New to the festival this year, the Run the Dam event offers 5K-, 10K- and half-marathon runs on Saturday, Sept. 17. The run begins on the east side of Grand Coulee Dam, crosses to top of the dam, turns up to Grand Coulee’s B Street and ends at North Dam Park, the site of the festival.

Those interested in the Run the Dam event can register at runthedam.com. Also on Saturday, a human foosball event will be held. Picture a giant foosball court on the grass with players holding onto pipes crossing the court. Teams reported having a lot of fun at last year’s tournament. You can get your team of six together and register for the event, its second year running.

Interested in putting in a craft or food booth, or joining the community yard sale? Register through the chamber of commerce.

And those who have a special talent with a barbecue grill can register for two days of competition.

For events that need advance registration, go to the chamber’s website, grandcouleedam.org/harvest, or stop by the chamber office at 17 Midway Avenue in Grand Coulee for additional information and to sign up.
