Burning banned

Lincoln County Fire District 9 stated this week that there is a burn ban as of June 1. Questions can be answered by calling 647-5400.

Big haul for

food bank

U.S. Postal Service workers in Grand Coulee, Coulee Dam and Elmer City collected and delivered 1,796 pounds of food during their recent Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive collection effort, Postmaster Amy Glover said.

Rotary donates $1,000

The Grand Coulee Dam Rotary Club donated $1,000 for expenses in the Tall Timber retreat for Grand Coulee Dam and

Nespelem sixth-graders.

The club had held a spaghetti feed fundraiser, with help from the students.

Popular job

Coulee Medical Center has received 100 resumés from people who would like to be its next chief executive officer. A search committee to find a replacement for current CEO Debbie Bigelow has narrowed the list to 10 and conducted telephone interviews last week. The board of commissioners hopes to narrow the field to three by June 15.
