Ladies win two

The Lady Raiders won two of the three basketball games they played over the holiday break.

The first, at home against the Manson Trojans Dec. 18, was a 52-32 victory.

LR took the momentum of that win into the week of practice that preceded the Eagle Holiday Classic at West Valley of Spokane Dec. 28-29.

In the first game of the tournament, the Lady Raiders took on the Riverside Rams of the Northeast A League. The Rams are experiencing a down year and only scored four points in the first quarter. LR also struggled to score as the halftime score was LR 14- Riverside 11. The Lady Raiders outscored the Rams to win the game 35-21.

The next day, LR took the court against the 2A Cheney Blackhawks. In the first quarter, the Blackhawks exploded on offense, outscoring the Lady Raiders 22-7. LR would not score double digit points until the fourth, when the Blackhawks unloaded the bench. Cheney won 65-43.

The Lady Raiders will look to improve on offense when they take the court in league games this week. Last night the hosted the Tonasket Tigers. Tomorrow at 6 p.m. the Lady Raiders will take to the floor to play the Lady Bears at Brewster. The Lady Bears are 3-4 overall, with losses to Omak, Cashmere, Chelan, and Okanogan. Brewster’s wins have come at the expense of Bridgeport, Liberty Bell, and Tonasket.
