Schilling and Alejandre to represent LR at districts

Lake Roosevelt’s senior throwers Katelynn Schilling and Octavio Alejandre qualified last week to move on from sub-districts at Tonasket Wednesday to the District 5-6 meet in Ephrata on Friday. “Our senior throwers excelled in this meet and will be moving on to District competition.”

Alejandre threw a career personal record in the shot put while taking first place in the sub-district meet. Alejandre came up two places short in the discus to advance, placing seventh with the throw of 97 feet, 8 inches.

Schilling advances in both of those events. In the shot, Schilling placed second with a throw of 34 feet, 2.5 inches. Over at disc, Schilling placed fourth with the throw of 96 feet, 3 inches.

Nathaniel Hall placed in the 200-meter dash, taking eighth in 25.94 seconds.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Hall, Angelo Clark, and Cameron and Matthew Tillman placed sixth with the time of 49.74 seconds. Cameron Tillman took sixth in the triple jump by leaping 31 feet, 9.5 inches.

The district 5-6 meet in Ephrata starts at 3:30 p.m. Friday, and will feature members from all the 2B and 1B track teams in both districts. The top four finishers in each event will advance to the state tournament at Eastern Washington University on May 29-30.
