Retired teacher wins seat

One veteran school board member in Nespelem was soundly defeated in Tuesday’s election and another incumbent barely scraped out a win.

Nancy J. Armstrong-Montes, a retired Nespelem School teacher, defeated long time school board member Andrew C. Joseph, Jr., 66-12.

In the other contested race, incumbent P. Jolene Marchand won by the slimmest of margins over challenger Dorothy Palmer, 40-38.
