Fire nearly doubles in a day

The St. Mary’s Mission Road Fire had consumed 9,655 acres by 2 p.m. Friday, but was 15 percent contained, an update from fire authorities said Friday.

Saturday at 10 a.m. those evacuated from homes near Paschal Sherman Indian School will be able to return, but advised to be ready to leave again, their evacuation levels officially reduced a level for Level 3 to 2. The same goes for the school,...
