Over the last two hundred million years, as the North American plate moved west, small continents came crashing in from the Pacific, accreting to the coastline to form what we now recognize as Washington. First the Okanogan sub-continent, then the North Cascades micro-continent. Columbia River Basalt flows and Ice Age Floods are our recent history. The program is free & open to the public.
