We certainly aren’t seeing the amount of rainfall that the Olympic Peninsula receives with an annual average of 140 inches a year. Yet, we have been wet here in our region of the state. Grand Coulee Police 4/30 - A woman who had just recently moved into a home on Sunny Drive in Electric City told police that she had punched the wrong button on her security system and it had sounded the alarm. 5/1 - A Prins Place resident called police to report a suspicious person wearing a “wife beater” T-shirt and jeans. Police talked to the “suspicious person” and found that he was walking on private property trying to find a place where he could get cell phone service so he could call his “old lady.” Police told him to stay off private... Grand Coulee 4/25 - A driver from Orting was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license and not having an ignition interlock device after police responded to a suspicious person complaint from a woman on Goodfellow Avenue in Electric City. - Officers stopped a vehicle that had expired tabs near the former middle school. When the vehicle stopped, two persons from the car fled, leaving three still inside. Two of those remaining in the car were wanted on warrants for their arrest and were detained. Grand Coulee Police 4/16 - USBR Plant Protection reported an alarm at the 500 KV switchyard station. The officer recorded that there were a number of tumbleweeds against the fence. - A man at Spring Canyon Apartments told police that he had left one apartment and entered another, where three males holding knives stood up and looked at him. The little shop on Main Street that opened with coffee, knickknacks and T-shirts three years ago now plans to expand its restaurant offerings outside.
