  • First two State Parks free days of 2018 coming up in January

    OLYMPIA – Dec. 20, 2017 – The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is offering two free days in January, when visitors to state parks will not need a Discover Pass for day-use visits. The first free day is Monday, Jan. 1, which also coincides with First Day Hikes, a nationwide initiative that aims to get people outdoors on New Year's Day. Yet we don’t know what causes them or how they relate to earthquake hazards or groundwater aquifers. Area residents are encouraged to purchase a gift based on the information given on the ornaments (Suggested value approximately $25 per gift).     Inland Northwest Blood Center along with the Grand Coulee community blood drive volunteers led by Leha Bodeau are planning a blood drive for Monday, December 18. Donation hours will be from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the community room in Coulee Medical Center. INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people!
