The local fall run event is expanding to include more fun activities, replacing the harvest festival of recent years, its organizer says.

“The Run the Dam event has expanded into an entire park full of fun,” race director Kelly Buche said. “Along with the traditional 5k, 10k, and half-marathon distance events, the weekend will also feature a Beer Garden, live music throughout the weekend, a motorcycle poker run, a vendor fair with food, arts & crafts booths, and a fabulous Kids Korner that will include pony rides, bounce houses, face painting and performances by L Bow the Clown.”

The weekend kicks off at North Dam Park in Grand Coulee on Friday, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m. and runs through 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept.17.

“Come enjoy healthy exercise, food and fun for the entire family,” Buche said. “Don’t miss out on this time of year in the gorgeous Coulee.”
