Daicia Marie Mellon, 31, loving mother, faithful friend to many and proud member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville; left us all much too soon Friday, February 5, 2021. Daicia entered this world on Saturday, February 11, 1989, in Spokane, Washington to Oscar H. and Dianne Sutton-Mellon. An excellent student and voracious reader, teenage Daicia found schooling too easy and so earned her GED at the age of 15 years.

Daicia married once to David Cox Jr., and though they later divorced, Daicia and David remained close friends, together co-parenting their three beautiful children whom they both adore. Her first beloved pet being a pig named – "Wilbur" Daicia, loved animals of all kinds and you never knew how many pampered dogs you may find living with Daicia in her home. A very creative person, Daicia enjoyed beading, being well known for the earrings she made. As a young adult Daicia discovered a love of hunting, which she excelled at, having taken numerous deer and a moose. She delighted in sharing her knowledge of hunting, fishing and just spending time during long walks in the woods with her wonderful children.

Daicia's proud legacy lives on through her three children: Gabriel Lloyd Oscar Mellon, McKenzie Agnes Elizabeth Cox and Brantley James Braddoc Cox; parents: Oscar H. Mellon and Dianne Sutton Burke; grandmother, Leona Sutton; siblings: Tricia Aubertin and Merce Aubertin; nephews and nieces: Dusty Rose Aubertin, Velvet Rain Aubertin, Scott Aubertin, Starr Aubertin and Skylar Farmer and great-nieces: Dayze Aubertin and Deliah Munger. Daicia will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A family Rosary took place in Keller, Washington on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. A Memorial Celebration of Daicia's life was held on her 32nd birthday, February 11, 2021, followed by 11 a.m. graveside services in the Keller Community Cemetery, Keller, Washington.
