A man from Grand Coulee has died of complications from COVID-19, Grant County Health District said Monday night.

The district was notified Monday that the man in his 50s, who was hospitalized, had died.

The health district did not report where he had been hospitalized.

“Our hearts are with his family and friends. On behalf of Unified Command, our staff, Health Officer, and Board of Health, we are so sorry for your loss,” a statement on the district’s website said.

The death brings Grant County’s total to four, with 192 confirmed cases and another 35 “probable,” the district’s demographics on the disease say. Two more are currently in hospital.

About 91 tests were still pending Monday night. More than 2,300 people have tested negative for the illness caused by the SARS-COV-2 virus in Grant County. The district lists 92 as “recovered.”

The district “strongly recommends” wearing a face mask whenever in public where you cannot stay six feet away from those around you. “This includes in the grocery store and at work,” the district says on its website. “Your mask should be tight fitting and cover your nose and mouth at all times, even when talking! … Your mask helps protect others and their mask helps protect you! Do your part to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.”

Okanogan County Emergency Management Tuesday night listed 42 confirmed cases, including two deaths and 32 “recovering.”

Lincoln County has had two confirmed cases, no deaths.

Douglas County has confirmed 130 cases, including three deaths.

As of Monday night, the state has seen 18,811 confirmed cases of COVID-19, up 200 from a day earlier, including 1,031 deaths, 5.5% of confirmed cases.
