Group effort producing quilts

Volunteers work together Jan. 8 to tie quilts to comfort those who could use it locally. And half are bound for an Okanogan shelter and a World Relief effort at the Zion Lutheran Church. The group, which welcomes everyone who wants to help, meets every Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church through February (bring a sack lunch and scissors). Last year, the group made 91 quilts.
