Lake Roosevelt cross country ran last week in Omak and Moses Lake, where eighth-grader Chase Marchand placed first in the middle school races.

The runners went to East Side Park in Omak on Oct. 9.

Colton Jackson was the top placing Raider in the 5,000-meter varsity race, placing seventh out of 51 runners with a time of 18 minutes, 21.35 seconds.

Marchand placed first out of 54 runners in the 1.5-mile middle school race with a time of 7:55.25.

That time also made him the fastest eighth-grader running that distance in the state last weekend, and sixth fastest in the nation this season, according to statistics compiled by athletic.net.

At Blue Heron Park in Moses Lake Oct. 12, Kyle Edmo was the top Raider runner for the 5,000-meter varsity race, placing 51st out of 106 runners in 18:43.9.

Marchand again won the 1.5-mile middle school race, in 9:33.72.

The Raiders run again on Friday, Oct. 18 in Oroville at Lake Osoyoos State Park with a start time of 4 p.m.

The Central Washington 2B league championships are also coming up, being held on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Wapato Point.
