The Grand Coulee Dam School District voted to hold two regular meetings each month on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Previously, one of those meetings was considered a “special” meeting, and meetings were held at 6 p.m. The meetings are held in the library at Lake Roosevelt.

Coulee Dam paying for roof repair estimate

The city of Coulee Dam will pay $1,500 to Five Star Roofing for an estimate on repairing the roof of their Community Building, a building that currently houses the Melody and the bowling alley, and formerly had a running movie theater. The $1,500 will be paid for out of the $25,000 the city has set aside for the roof. The city council approved to pay for the estimate at their June 26 meeting.

Grand Coulee will keep

ambulance in Coulee Dam

The city of Grand Coulee will keep an ambulance in Coulee Dam, where several emergency medical technicians reside.

The Coulee Dam council accepted the agreement at their June 26 meeting.

“Since the dissolution and decertification of the Coulee Dam Ambulance, Grand Coulee Ambulance has been providing service to Coulee Dam,” a description on the background of the agreement in the council’s agenda packet reads. “Several EMT’s still reside in Coulee Dam. Grand Coulee and Coulee Dam Mayors and Fire Chiefs mutually agree that it would be beneficial to Coulee Dam Residents to house a Grand Coulee Ambulance in Coulee Dam. The intent is that this will provide quicker response times to residents in Coulee Dam.”
