Terry Warnecke, 67, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019.

Terry was a very outgoing person who was also one of the craftiest mechanics and the most passionate coaches to grace Eastern Washington for over six decades.

He was born in Spokane, Washington, on July 31, 1951, to Byron and Marie Warnecke. He graduated from Coulee Dam High School in 1969. Terry married Marcia (Greninger) Warnecke in 1972, and together they raised their two children: TeRay and Brian in Coulee Dam.

Terry was a Dam resident, where he worked at NAPA and the State Highway Dept. He retired from the State Highway Dept. as the Lead Mechanic in 2013. His passions were his family, softball, going to yard sales, and talking. He loved collecting cars, parts, tools and tinkering with every little thing. Terry never met a stranger in his life and was the best listener around.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Marie.

Terry is survived by his wife, Marcia; two children: TeRay (Joe) Carroll of Waukee, Iowa, and Brian (Marsha) Warnecke of Coulee Dam; brother, Lonnie (Pam) Warnecke of Wilbur, Washington; four grandkids and four granddogs.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Terry on Saturday, June 22. If you are fortunate enough to attend this celebration you will have the opportunity to meet Terry’s “All-Star Team.”

• #5 Cameron Carroll, Iowa State University

• #4 Tommy Carroll, Waukee Warriors

• #4 Calvin Carroll, Waukee Wolves

• #1 Emma Marchand, Lake Roosevelt Raiders

Terry’s pride for these grandkids was unmatched. Nothing made him happier than watching them play ball. Coach Terry will be missed by his ball players across the country.

An account has been set up at North Cascades Bank in memory of Terry.
