Construction has resumed on the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation fire station off SR-155, with completion anticipated for March of 2020.

The $13.6 million contract was originally awarded to Innovative Construction & Design Ltd. in 2016, with construction beginning in April of 2017.

The termination of that contract was confirmed by the bureau in March of this year, and construction has resumed in April by Northcon Construction.

"Basically what is going on is ICD originally had the contract, and therefore Northcon is just taking over and finishing the construction aspect of it," said Project Manager for Northcon, Mack Miessner.

"Right now we are cleaning up, kind of regrouping, doing a restart kind of deal," Miessner said. "And hopefully in the next couple weeks BoR will give us the approval to move forward, and hopefully have this done around March of 2020."

"Right now we're just basically doing all our [quality control] issues," Miessner said, "addressing all the deficiencies that already occurred before we took over the project."

Miessner said they will have about six to eight subcontractors working on the project, and that currently they are working on the concrete block walls of the station.
