Thanks to Grant PUD

Since 1938, we have been blessed with electricity delivered to our homes and businesses for all of our needs. Currently, we are experiencing the benefits of all of the efforts by hundreds of people that have built our Public Utility District, and I, as one, want to express my appreciation to them.

Just 90 years ago we had to heat our homes with wood and use lanterns and candles for light! Today we heat our homes with renewable, cheap, electrical power from our two dams that the people of Grant County own on the Columbia River. Also, we have fiber optics that keep us connected to the entire country and the world.

This winter has been very harsh — and our lights never blinked, and our heat stayed on in good measure, not to mention that we only pay four cents per kilowatt hour. In Central Washington we are famous for our apple and potato storage, which is completely dependent on electrical power.

Thanks again to our PUD for all you do for us!
