The sale of a cable television and internet provider to Coulee Dam residents will take a few more months, Coulee Dam town council members were told last week.

Charter Communications, a nationwide cable, telephone and internet provider, is working on purchasing Country Cable, which has been in business serving Coulee Dam ever since it purchased the Coulee Dam Television Station more than a decade ago.

The deal has been in the works for some time and is now expected to close March 1, an email from a company senior manager to City Clerk Stefani Bowden indicated.

Bowden provided the email to city council members last Wednesday.

“It’s probably going to be June before … they can begin a switchover,” Bowden said. “They’re still very frustrated.”

Councilmember Fred Netzel said he has been getting a lot of questions about the status of the service in Coulee Dam.

In other business, the council agreed to have Silver Creek Systems install a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system in the town hall ballroom.

The company’s highest option on a bid was $15,084. A bid from Don Kruse Electric came in at $23,556.
