Lake Roosevelt continues to go undefeated in football, defeating DeSales on Friday, and now prepares to take on Onalaska on Saturday.

On Nov. 2 in Coulee Dam, the Raiders defeated the Irish with a final score of 22-6.

The Raiders scored first with a six-yard pass from Steven Flowers to Hunter Whitelaw.

Flowers scored a touchdown on a 36-yard run in the third quarter, and the Irish scored a touchdown on a pass, also in the third.

Flowers ran for another touchdown in the fourth, closing the game with a 22-6 score.

"We had a lot of adversity that week, and I think our kids came out and did a fantastic job of running the ball," remarked Coach Tim Rasmussen. "We rushed for 260 yards in the game. We like those numbers."

"As ... competition increases, you just see adversity come up in games, and our kids responded very well," Rasmussen continued. "It was good to see them fight and come out with a good team victory. Our defense played very solid."

The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association has LR ranked eighth in the state out of 16 qualified 2B schools in the state tournament.

LR will host the ninth-ranked Onalaska team on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Coulee Dam for the first of four rounds in the state tournament. The winner moves onto the quarterfinals, and the loser's season is over.

Onalaska has a 7-3 overall win-loss record; LR is undefeated at 9-0.

Passes won't be accepted at the games, and ticket prices for state games are $10 for adults, and $7 for students and senior citizens.

The winner of the Lake Roosevelt-Onalaska game will go on to play the winner of the game between number-one ranked Adna and the number-16 seed, which will be either Friday Harbor or Concrete. The higher seed hosts.
