This is another bill sponsored by billionaires and organizations such as Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR). They spent $10.5 million to get I-594 passed in 2014. That bill approved by voters now makes it illegal to loan a rifle to a friend to hunt with, among other things. Then they spent $7 million on bill 1491 in 2016.

Now the same five billionaires, along with WAGR, have spent $4.3 million to get this passed. If bill 1639 is approved by the voters, it could potentially make every gun owner in Washington state a felon. This is a 30-page document of fine print, but they will not print all 30 pages in the voters’ pamphlet.

This bill also makes it illegal for anyone 18 to 20 years old to purchase a semi-automatic rifle, even a 22 rim fire, and also puts a $25 tax and creates a mandatory storage requirement for all gun owners. What is the tax for? So if you don’t have your guns in a safe, and someone breaks into your house and steals a gun, then commits a crime with it, you are charged as an accessory to that crime, therefore becoming a felon.
