The Raider football team won yet another shutout on Friday, this time on the road against the Oroville Hornets.

The Raiders won 47-0.

"Our kids are disciplined on defense," Coach Tim Rasmussen said. "We worked all week long. We knew their quarterback was really shifty. The week before, he ran all over the place on Northwest Christian, so we worked on containing him, keeping him inside, making sure we were very disciplined on defense. Our kids did a great job."

The Raider defense captured eight turnovers in the game, including two "pick-sixes," or interceptions returned for touchdowns, both by Raider Steven Flowers.

In total, the Raiders had five interceptions, and recovered three forced fumbles.

Flowers also ran for two touchdowns on offense, and threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Sam Wapato.

Tony Nichols also had a rushing touchdown. "Tony did a great job running the ball hard, getting some tough yards," Rasmussen said. "We did a great job setting the tempo with running the football."

The Raiders were also prepared on special teams.

"We knew that some of their kids were good returners on kickoffs, and our guys did a good job of staying in their lanes and being disciplined on tackling," Rasmussen said.

So far, the Raider shutouts have been 44-0 against Okanogan, 48-0 against Tonasket, 46-0 against Liberty Bell, 69-0 against Kettle Falls, and 47-0 against Oroville.

The Raiders are sitting on top of the Central Washington 2B league with a 3-0 league win-loss record, and a 5-0 overall record.

Brewster is also 3-0 in the league, but 4-2 overall. Manson is 3-1 in the league, 3-3 overall.

The Raiders play in Manson against the Trojans on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m.
