Softball acrobatics Justus DeWinkler, left, makes the catch off a Steve Hansen hit, also attempted by Charlie Joseph, as the two of them dive for the last out of a quarter-final game against the Wannabes Saturday in the summer softball league's Kenny Hearne Summer Classic Tournament. Their ECT team beat the Wannabes 14-9 in that game, but not the tournament.

The Inchelium softball team won the Grand Coulee Summer Softball League's Kenny Hearne Summer Classic Tournament on Saturday.

Inchelium had to beat the Electric City Bar & Grill team twice on Saturday in the championship after losing to them previously in the winner's bracket.

Inchelium came back from behind to win the first game of the championship 13-12. They won the second game 12-9.

"The [Electric City Bar & Grill] is a very good team and very tough to beat," said Inchelium's Galen Desautel. "We played very hard all day long and ended up coming out on top."

Electric City Bar & Grill took second place, and third went to the Wannabes.

"Kevin [Portch] does a great job with this league and the tournament," Desautel said about Portch, who organizes the league each year. "Can't leave out how good the fields were. They were in very good shape all year. Hope Kevin keeps doing this for the community; it is a very good thing."

The first-place Inchelium team holds up their winning T-shirts. From left in the front row are Leah Dick, Michael Heath, Ricki Wippel. In second row, Marshall Pakootas, Byron Sam, Guy Stensgar, Mieka Heath, Rylee Desautel, Cody Desautel, and Galen Desautel. In the very back holding the shirt in the air is the team's number-one fan, Phillip Williams.
