NOTICE AND ORDER TO ABATE UNSAFE CONDITION

Property Address 351 SPOKANE WAY

Legal Description; Parcel # 01 1134 000, Lots 3 & 4, Block 24, Grand Coulee Center Add. Replat

Structures Identification: Vacant Building

On November 15, 2017, the building official for the City of Grand Coulee (or assigned representative) caused the property described above to be inspected and found conditions described herein that cause the building official to deem the structure unsafe and to issue this notice and order pursuant the Chapter 14.06 of the Grand Coulee Municipal Code (GCMC). The following conditions were observed that cause the building to be deemed unsafe pursuant to GCMC Section 14.06.030. All buildings or structures which have any or all of the following defects are deemed “dangerous buildings.”


(D) Those which have become damaged by fire, wind, or other causes so as to have become dangerous to life, safety, morals, or the general health and welfare of the occupants or the people of the city, including but not limited to; the exterior walls are structurally impaired due to neglect and lack of maintenance, the interior is cluttered with combustible material constituting a fire hazard.

(H) Those which have parts thereof which are so attached that they may fail and injure members of the public or property, including but not limited to; the roof is sagging and shows sign of weakness, interior ceiling is partially collapsed, and the ceiling supports are failing structurall.y


You are hereby ordered to take the following action as a result of this notice and order:

• The building must be vacated and demolished. All necessary permits must be obtained from the Town Hall before work can commence. Work must commence within the time specified by this order (not to exceed 60 days).

Start and End Dates: The repairs or demolition ordered above must commence no later than the start date below and must be completed and inspected to the satisfaction of the building official for the City of Grand Coulee no later than the end date listed below.

Start Date: August 25, 2018 End Date: October 25, 2018

Property Owners Rights: Any person having any record title or legal interest in the building has the right to one of the following:

(2) Notice of Hearing: Any person having any record title or legal interest in the building has the right to file an answer to this Notice and Order in writing or in person before the building official at city hall. A hearing has been scheduled for this purpose at the Grand Coulee City Hall as indicated below:

Hearing Date: August 21, 2018 Hearing Time: 1:00pm

Appeals: Appeal from the notice and order or any action of the building official shall be made to the Board of Appeals, provided the appeal is made in writing and filed with the building official within 30 days from the date of service of such notice and order.

Town of Elmer City OPEN COUNCIL SEAT

The Town of Elmer City has an open council seat. The mayor and council invite any Elmer City residents who are interested in filling the position to please attend our next council meeting on August 9, at 7 p.m. After hearing from all interested persons, the mayor will select one person to be the council member. The selected person will fill the seat until the November 2019 election. Elmer City Town Hall is located at 505 Seaton Avenue, and is accessible to the handicapped.

Grant County Mosquito Control District #2

NOTICE OF TIME CHANGE

The Grant County Mosquito Control District No. 2 will now be holding its monthly meeting at 5 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at 210 W. Coulee Blvd. in Electric City, Washington.

The next meeting will be held Thursday, August 9.
