Grand Coulee

5/23 - Police are investigating an incident at the Eagles where an employee related that a customer had caused her pain when she squeezed her hand. The customer had tried to use a debit card, but the employee said she didn’t know how to process it and requested cash for the bar bill. A discussion ensued. Police are asking for a copy of the security tape.

5/24 - There was a report of a scary person walking on Burdin Boulevard. Police responded and saw a man walking on the sidewalk talking on a cell phone.

- A report of a door kicked open on Coulee Boulevard in Electric City turned out to be false.

- Police are asking the prosecutor’s office for charges against two men who got into an argument near the ice plant in Electric City. Police noted the two parties have a history of arguing. Requested charges include harassment and disorderly conduct on one man, and harassment and fourth-degree assault on the other.

- A man and a woman said they had taken a wrong turn on a trail network and ended up in a restricted area on government property. Police gave them a courtesy ride to Pole Park.

5/25 - A man at East Grand Coulee Avenue complained that his neighbor was mowing his lawn at 4 a.m. Police talked with the neighbor, who said he was just going to go inside. He stopped mowing.

- A man who refused to answer his door on a noise complaint will find an infraction taped to it. He had opened the door to let the dog in but wouldn’t talk to police. The officer talked to him with a citation. A few hours later police received another complaint on the same dog.

- A man who had been banned from a Continental Heights apartment complex was found in one of the apartments. He was issued a citation for trespassing, and also jailed on a warrant for his arrest. He was whisked off to Grant County jail.

- Police pulled over a driver known to be wanted on a felony arrest warrant. He allowed for the vehicle to be searched, and the officer reported finding a controlled substance. The man was taken to Grant County jail on the warrant and on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

5/26 - A woman on Burdin Boulevard called police to let them know that her missing son was back. He returned after she had reported that he was intoxicated and that he’d left in a vehicle, supposedly to Spokane.

- Police advised a woman that the dog at her location had been reported on a number of occasions for barking. She said it was her boyfriend’s dog. She was advised to give him a message that if police were called again for the barking noise her boyfriend would be cited.

- A man on Goodfellow Avenue in Electric City told police that harassment has continued from a person who has a history of causing problems. Police are asking the prosecutor to file charges of harassment against the individual.

- An officer was called to Jack’s Service at Four Corners because a male and female were arguing in the parking lot and beer cans were being thrown. They were reportedly arguing over where the keys to the vehicle were. The keys were found at the counter inside. No charges were filed.

- Police got a report of a man passed out in front of the closed Tropical Pig restaurant in Electric City and that he had a gun wrapped in a bandana. The man was identified as a man who had been convicted on a felony and therefore could not legally possess a gun. The man agreed to be searched, and no weapons were found.

5/27 - A man who allegedly threatened another man was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct near the High Dam Tavern.

- Police were called to Sunbanks Lake Resort, where people had gotten into a conflict with some others in one of the villas. Security at the resort was able to keep the people separated and said they would stand by to keep the two parties apart.

- An officer was advised that a boat had been found unoccupied. It was towed to Coulee Playland and later the owner showed up to take charge of his boat.

- Police gave a phone back to its owner after he showed he had the right security code.

- A woman explained that she and her daughters had been confronted by a woman in Safeway who used abusive language. She said she was afraid that her daughters might face problems in school because of the exchange.

5/28 - An officer stood by while a woman got her things out of a trailer after she had accused the man there of head butting her. The officer could not find any evidence of violence between the two. The woman took five of the 10 dogs that were in the trailer with her.

Coulee Dam

5/21 - Police checked on a 911 hangup call on Camas Street. The homeowner stated that she didn’t have a landline plugged in at the time, and that a similar incident had occurred before.

- A driver who had been stopped because of a missing license plate told police that she found the plate in a car wash she had used over the weekend.

5/22 - A Camas Street resident told police that dogs were running loose in his neighborhood. Police went to the area and the dogs were back at their own house. The report stated that the owner of the dogs had been cited two weeks ago for a similar violation.

- A deer was locked inside the newly fenced city shop area. An officer used his key to set the animal free.

5/23 - A man was stopped on Mead Way for speeding and the officer found that the driver had a suspended license and a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to Okanogan County jail.

5/24 - A woman was stopped for speeding on Elmer City Access Road, and the officer found that she had a suspended license for unpaid traffic tickets. She was given another ticket.

- Police checked on what was thought might be an abandoned vehicle parked north of town on SR-155. A check showed that it belonged to a local resident.

5/25 - A woman was stopped going the wrong way on Aspen Street, a one-way street. She was driving with a suspended license and was wanted on an arrest warrant. The officer noted that the woman had been drinking. She was cited for driving under the influence and for driving with a suspended license. She was taken to Okanogan County jail on the warrant.

5/26 - A driver was stopped on SR-155 near the top of the dam for going 10 mph over the speed limit of 30 mph. It was found that his license had been suspended and that he was wanted on a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to Okanogan County jail on the warrant.

- A mother who had misplaced her child found it and that the child was OK.
