The Raider track & field team competed at the Trojan Invite on Thursday in Manson, where the girls’ team placed fourth and the boys’ placed fifth.

“Our throwers performed well, scoring three out of eight places in the boys’ shot and three out of eight places in the girls’ javelin,” Head Coach Lori Adkins said. “Terrance Saulque demonstrated strong abilities by placing in both the shot and discus.”

Adkins also commended the girls’ relay teams, in which four runners run 100 or 200 meters each.

“Both girls’ relays were competitive and improved,” Adkins said.

The girls’ 100 relay team of Taylor Holeman, Keianna Vera, Anya Wendt, and Megan Abel finished third in 58.99 seconds.

The 200-meter relay team, with Keianna Vera, Addison Hansen, Bryn Chaffee, and Megan Abel, finished fourth at 2:1.2.

Raider Elijah Harris finished third in the 100-meter dash in 11.99 seconds and fifth in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 10 inches.

“Elijah Harris is emerging as a dominant sprinter and jumper,” Adkins said.

The Raiders were competing in Tonasket yesterday, results of which will be reported next week.

Their next event is the Quincy Invite on Saturday, April 21, with a start time of 10:30 a.m.

They will compete in the Northeast 1B/2B High School League meet on Tuesday, April 24 in Davenport starting at 3:30 p.m.
