William L. Simpson, of Grand Coulee, Washington, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, March 9, 2018, following a brief illness that hospitalized him in Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington.

Bill, as he was known, was born December 26, 1949, to Ross and Dovy Simpson in Grand Coulee. He grew up and attended school in Grand Coulee. At the age of 18, he lost his right leg in an auto accident. He was employed at Biles-Coleman Sawmill in Omak, Washington, for a period of time and then returned to Grand Coulee to work for Jess Kennedy, moving houses. After marrying, he moved to Connell, Washington, where he was employed as a security guard. Later, he became an upholsterer and worked in three different shops in Spokane, Washington, before eventually retiring. While living in Spokane, Bill would return to Grand Coulee annually for deer hunting trips.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman whose express desire was to return to the Grand Coulee area to live out his days in the companionship of his hunting buddies and the enjoyment of their jointly loved hunting and fishing grounds. Happily, he was able to do just that about two years ago. Bill loved watching the wildlife and driving the hills and canyons surrounding Grand Coulee.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, two nephews, and one niece. He leaves behind two brothers: John (and wife, Wilma), LaPine, Oregon, and LeRoy (and wife, Lorna), Chattaroy, Washington; one daughter, Rachel, of Umatilla, Oregon; one nephew, Mark (and wife, Kia), Colbert, Washington; and many dear friends and hunting buddies.

Bill's family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Bruce (Coulee City) and Eric (Electric City) for their many acts of kindness and brotherly love to Bill over the years of their friendship.

At his request, there will be no services. "Home at last, Praise God, he is home at last."
