Here’s an opportunity, if you live in Grand Coulee, to serve your community.

The city of Grand Coulee is looking for someone to serve on the city council, to replace David Tylor, who resigned his position Tuesday night.

Tylor submitted his resignation at the council meeting last night after serving for eight years.

City officials are asking interested parties, who meet the requirements, to submit a letter of interest to the city clerk. The letters will be discussed and a new councilmember selected at the next council meeting, April 17.

To qualify to serve on the council, a person has to have been a city resident for 12 months and must be a registered voter.

Tylor said Monday that he has purchased a house in Roslyn, Washington, and will eventually move there.

“It’s time for someone to step up to the plate and take over the council position,” Tylor said.

He has lived in the community for 11 years and retired from a small construction company.

In addition to his council seat, Tylor also sits on the city’s planning commission.
