The Lady Raiders had a busy week, defeating the Tigers, losing a close one to Omak in a non-league game, demolishing Bridgeport, and losing to Brewster.

Hosting the Tonasket Lady Tigers on Jan. 23, the Lady Raiders won with a final score of 53-39.

"That was a win that we definitely needed," said Head Coach Wallace Pleasants. "The girls figured out what to do. We did a good job of taking away what they wanted to do."

Several technical fouls were called on both sides.

"Everybody knows what's on the line, and we're out there playing," Pleasants said, referring to the fight for higher seeds in the postseason.

In Omak, the Lady Pioneers defeated LR 64-61 in a non-league game Jan. 25.

"That right there was an exciting game," Pleasants said. "The referees did an outstanding job letting the girls play. Both teams got up and down the floor. Our legs weren't there down the stretch."

The Lady Raiders won in a 65-25 landslide against Bridgeport's young Fillies team Saturday.

"That's one of those where everybody played," Pleasants said. "Those types of games we make sure to work on the things we want to get better at."

The Lady Raiders lost at home Monday night to the top-ranked Brewster Lady Bears with a final score of 53-39, controlling the ball most of the game, but failing to get their shots to fall.

"I think we outshot them by about 25 shots," Pleasants said. "It seems to be that way this year for some reason; we can't shoot in our own gym. We go to someone else's gym, we shoot well. We have to tighten up our shoes."

The Lady Raiders enjoy a 9-5 league win-loss record. The top teams of the league have similar records, with Liberty Bell at 9-4, Waterville and Tonasket both with 10-4 records, and Brewster leading the league at 13-1.

With two games left in the regular season, Pleasants hopes to get at least the third-seed spot, which will have an easier road than the fourth seed.

LR's next game is tomorrow, Feb. 1, at home in Coulee Dam with the Waterville Lady Shockers at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, Feb. 3, they host the Soap Lake Lady Eagles at 4 p.m.
