Lake Roosevelt High School's boys' basketball program is getting a new head basketball coach and assistant basketball coach.

Jeremy Crollard, who also teaches fourth grade at Lake Roosevelt Elementary, will take on the lead position.

Crollard played, and later coached, basketball at Wenatchee High School, where he graduated in 1998. Crollard played for a year in junior college at Wenatchee Valley.

Crollard continued to play in basketball tournaments such as Hoopfest, and began coaching AAU (Amatuer Athletic Union) basketball after college. He was an assistant coach at Wenatchee High School before coaching basketball for three years at Manson High School from 2008-11.

Crollard will be taking on the challenge of juggling teaching with coaching.

"I'm up for it," he said. "I've always really enjoyed coaching and working with kids. Coaching is one of my passions, just like teaching. I get to teach the younger kids in the classroom and get to coach the older kids in basketball."

Crollard said he has gotten to know some of those older kids as an assistant football coach this year.

The new assistant basketball coach will be Ty Egbert, who played basketball for the Raiders before playing for the University of Idaho.

Egbert led the Raiders his senior year to a 20-6 record and a Washington 2B state appearance in their 2011-12 season. He played for the U.I. Vandals in the NCAA from 2013-2017.

"He understands the culture and what it takes to be successful," Crollard said about Egbert, adding that they've both already met several times to discuss how to improve the basketball culture at LR.

Levi Seekins resigned as head basketball coach earlier in the year. Seekins declined to comment on his resignation, saying simply that it was for "personal reasons."

Bradley Oliver had also resigned as assistant basketball coach.

The school board approved Crollard and Egbert as the new coaching staff in a meeting on Monday.
